tlm fact: I have a severe phobia of earwigs. The evil monsters scare the living daylights out of me! That is my only phobia.

It always freaked me out that they were called earwigs. It implies that they might like to inhabit ones' ear!?

That is where my phobia started, I either saw on TV, heard a rumour or dreamt that a (not sure of the collective noun for earwigs) group of earwigs crawled into someones ear and ate their brain. :(
